Our new position in Jesus calls us to a new focus, new passions and new motivations.  We must be seeking the goals and plan of God for our lives by focusing on the place where Jesus is - above!  

Paul writes to the church of Colossae to bolster their understanding and confidence in the supreme position, glory and sufficiency of Jesus for their daily lives and interactions as a church.  Paul addresses the Colossians heresy that is plaguing this body of believers, but does so primarily through his instruction about Jesus and the impact that Jesus should have in the lives of true believers.  The preeminence of Christ is on display throughout this letter to the Colossians believers.
