As Paul concludes his letter to the church at Colossae, he gives greetings, instructions and commendations of his ministry companions to the Colossian believers.  He speaks of the value of redemptive relationships, relationships that helped to continue and enhance the transforming work of God in the life of individual believers.  We need one another in the church for the exact same reasons!  We need to be encouraged and challenged in our personal walk with Jesus. 

Paul writes to the church of Colossae to bolster their understanding and confidence in the supreme position, glory and sufficiency of Jesus for their daily lives and interactions as a church.  Paul addresses the Colossians heresy that is plaguing this body of believers, but does so primarily through his instruction about Jesus and the impact that Jesus should have in the lives of true believers.  The preeminence of Christ is on display throughout this letter to the Colossians believers.
