Leadership Team

The Bible clearly states that leaders are a gift to the church that helps to lead the church to greater Christlikeness, to provide care, guidance and leadership in aspects of service and ministry.

Our Leadership Team is composed of a diverse group with varied experience and gifts that enable us to provide care and serve our congregation.  We are working together to most effectively serve our congregation.

Graceway-Church.Leaders-WetterlundDave Wetterlund Jr. is married to Jenny and they have 4 children.  He has worked in a variety of jobs over the past several years including as a hospice chaplain and a member of Palmer Funeral Homes support staff, but is now able to serve our congretation full time.  He serves our church primarily through explaining the Word of God to us each week.  His favorite book of the Bible is John - currently and his favorite attribute is the grace of God and a very close second is his love!  Since coming to Graceway, the lesson he has come to understand most is the value God places on genuinely loving one another in the church.  Jenny often works behind the scenes organizing Ladies fellowship events, church events, Serve the City activities, meals for those in the hospital or recovering at home from a hospital stay and always seeking the opportunity to provide care and comfort to our church family.

Graceway-Church.Leaders-JoshuaSimon and Abbie moved to South Bend in the summer of 2023 from their home in Ann Arbor, MI. Simon works at Allegro in Granger. Their son, Peter, keeps Abbie very busy. They live in downtown South Bend and enjoy reading, walking, cycling, and hosting. Simon began serving this year as a deacon and both he and Abbie serve with music and with our children's ministries. Both Abbie and Simon find serving this church family refreshing and healing.

Graceway-Church.Leaders-Jaqua.MicahMicah Jaqua was just recently married to his wife, Mary.  Together they live in Granger and are enjoying setting up their home together.  He works as accountant for Allegro in Granger.  He is an avid Notre Dame fan.  He also enjoys fantasy football.   He provides detailed work with our ministry finances.  Together, they minister with our children and through Serve the City.

Graceway-Church.Leaders-Jaqua.WaltWalt Jaqua has been in corporate information technology for over 40 years and is a senior instructor teaching cybersecurity courses to active duty military personnel and veterans around the globe. Walt and Donna have 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren. He serves through leading our congregation in worship, leading our Men's Breakfast Fellowship and helping to organize us as we Serve our City.  Since coming to Graceway, he has come to a deeper realization of Jesus love for us and the sacrifice He gave, His own life, to rescue mankind from our sin and his favorite attribute of God is His grace.

Graceway-Church.Leaders-McCuenJim McCuen worked for more than 40 years in the insurance industry and retired a couple years ago from Laven Insurance Company where he had served as GM for several years before transitioning into a part time role before his retirement.  Jim and Janet have 4 adult daughters and 12 grandchildren.  Jim enjoys watching every Cubs game, going to Wrigley, and reading.  He serves through reaching out to our guests, organizing advertising and helping organize us as we Serve our City.  Together, they help administrate and facilitate our weekly setup. Since becoming part of Graceway, he has come to understand more clearly what a New Testament Church looks like and the importance God places on loving our fellow believers and his favorite attribute of God is His Mercy.

Jimmy McKeever and his wife Ashley recently moved back to the area after spending 5 Graceway-Church.Leaders-McKeeversyears living and working out in Philadelphia, PA. Jimmy currently works at Newmar Corporation in Nappanee as a CAD Designer building Class A motorhomes. He enjoys repairing, restoring, and riding motorcycles and spending time outdoors. With a background in Marketing, Jimmy helps maintain the website, develops digital media, and has helped improve Graceway’s online outreach. He also plays cello during church worship services. Ashley teaches Pre-K at Parents’ Day Off Preschool. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and running. With her background in children’s education, she heads up the Awana program on Sunday evenings. Together, they are also one of several teams who lead Awana each week. Since coming to Graceway, they have enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere and close fellowship with the body of believers here at Graceway. Jimmy and Ashley just welcomed their baby Caden in July!

Graceway-Church.Leaders-JonJon McKeever grew up in the South Bend area for the past 10 years and currently works as a CPA at RSM US in Elkhart, IN. He enjoys the travel and clientel he has the opportunity to serve.  Some of Jon’s hobbies include spending time with friends and family, riding his motorcycle, shooting at the gun range, and keeping up with the latest technology. He serves our congregation through teaching the Word, overseeing our social media presence, helping with our ministry finances as Treasurer, and playing his guitar during church worship. His time at Graceway has helped him understand the importance of a close church family, the grace and forgiveness of God in his life, and the role that the Word has in our daily living.

Graceway-Church.Leaders-YoderJalen and Emily Yoder met, while traveling with Life Action Ministries for several years. They were married and continued to travel with Life Action. Since finishing, Jalen has been working as an electrician in the Goshen area. While traveling, whenever they were in our area, they were a regular part of Graceway and we are so thankful to have them as a permanent part of our church family.  Riley came into the family last October, and her quick smile is joy to many in our church each week. Jalen is currently serving on our leadership team, as clerk, and both Jalen and Emily serve regularly in our children's ministry.

Kim Douglas has worked in the IT area for the past six years. Prior to that she worked in church ministry for nine years. She uses her computer knowledge in the church by designing the visuals for each service. One of the most impactful truths she has learned at Graceway is to know the Bible as it is written, not what we want it to say. She feels the section by section preaching and taking it in context is important to understanding the Bible. She enjoys spending time with family and the occasional roadtrip with her sister. Kim currently serves as our Archivist.

Graceway is so grateful for our team of gifted leaders and the direction and care they provide to our congregation.  If we can serve you in any way, please feel free to contact us
