Through the work of Christ on our behalf, as believers, we have been reconciled to God!  Though once we were alienated and the enemies of God, we are now reconciled.  Our relationship with God is possible only through the work of Jesus on our behalf!  He took our sins on himself and through his finished work on the cross, we can be reconciled to God! Our response must be to continue in faith and endure! 

Paul writes to the church of Colossae to bolster their understanding and confidence in the supreme position, glory and sufficiency of Jesus for their daily lives and interactions as a church.  Paul addresses the Colossians heresy that is plaguing this body of believers, but does so primarily through his instruction about Jesus and the impact that Jesus should have in the lives of true believers.  The preeminence of Christ is on display throughout this letter to the Colossians believers.
