Esther - For Such a Time as this

Esther is a Jewish orphan living in Susa, the capital of the Persian empire. She is chosen from several hundred women to become the new queen in place of the deposed Vashti. During her time as queen, her people - the Jews are threatened with annihilation. She is challenged by her uncle Mordecai that this may be the very reason for which she has been made queen, to save her people. She bravely and wisely takes the steps necessary to make the threat known and God intervenes and saves his people! God is at work throughout this story and God deserves the credit for rescuing the people. He used Esther to accomplish his purposes, even in this pagan empire of Persia.
