As Paul continues to address the fallen condition of humanity, he continues to offer the depths of our sin. We are sinners by nature. Our sin is evident in our denial of God as creator. As Paul describes our sin, he addresses both the idolatry of immorality and the broad implications of sin, including our sin against our fellow man and against God. The depths of human sinfulness is alarming, but through Jesus, you can be rescued from the depths your sin.

Throughout Romans, Paul offers a defense of what he believes and teachers about the gospel for these believers in Rome he has not yet met. Some of them may have been questioning him, his message and how it relates to Judaism. Paul writes to explain at length the connection of Jesus, the gospel and defend it, in spite of the rejection of Jesus as the Jewish Messiah by many Jews.
