As we again consider Advent and the coming of Messiah into the world to rescue humanity from sin - we begin with the genealogy given by Matthew. Matthew writes to demonstrate to his readers that Jesus is in the line of the royal family of Israel and he is the promised Anointed One. Jesus is the King, and has come in the form of mankind to redeem us from our sins!

Advent is a wonderful reminder of the expectations of this coming deliverer for centuries before, yet when he came there was a reticence to accepting him as the Messiah. There will be a second Advent of our Messiah, Jesus Christ, are we ready to receive him?
