Here in Hebrews 4:14-16, the preacher concludes the previous section and introduces the next large section to follow on Jesus as our Great High Priest. As our High Priest, Jesus is described as sympathetic toward our weaknesses. He is uniquely capable of functioning as our High Priest because he has passed through the heavens and is presently with God.  He is the eternal, divine Son of God! Jesus shared in our humanity, when he took on human flesh and became a man; yet, he never sinned!  As the sinless, Son of God, he is capable of functioning perfectly as our great High Priest. For believers, we can boldly approach his throne of grace and find strength (grace) to help us in our time of need.  Because of Jesus, our Great High Priest, you can endure and draw near to God for help!

Though the author of Hebrews is unknown, the writer offers instruction about Jesus; his person, his work and truth that he is better than angels, Moses, priests and any feature of the old covenant. Jesus is Supreme and Sufficient for believers! Our salvation is secured through his sacrificial work for us. As followers, we can rest in the provision of Jesus for us and we must persevere and encourage others to remain faithful to him.
