The preacher of Hebrews continues with this second warning but moves toward a positive offer of Rest with God through Christ. You can enter God's rest by genuinely hearing and faithfully obeying the Word of God! Throughout this warning (3:7-4:13), the preacher emphasizes hearing and listening to the Word.  When we hear, we must follow with belief/genuine action in our lives. Are you truly hearing the Word of God and opening yourself to obedient action in response to it?!?  Life change will not come apart from engaging the Word of God! By God's grace, we can be transformed by the Word!

Though the author of Hebrews is unknown, the writer offers instruction about Jesus; his person, his work and truth that he is better than angels, Moses, priests and any feature of the old covenant. Jesus is Supreme and Sufficient for believers! Our salvation is secured through his sacrificial work for us. As followers, we can rest in the provision of Jesus for us and we must persevere and encourage others to remain faithful to him.
