Absolute Certainty about Jesus and his Gospel

May 1, 2022 Speaker: pastor dave Series: The Gospel according to Luke - Certainty for Believers

Topic: 1-AM Sermons, Luke, Confidence, Assurance, Resurrection Passage: Luke 24:36-53

Luke concludes his gospel with a final resurrection appearance on the same day as the first two and 40 days later, the ascension of Jesus into heaven. The disciples have to this point struggled to understand much of the instruction Jesus has offered about himself. Here, they understand and this understanding leads to transformed living and ministry. The same can be true for us. Knowing Jesus offers certainty that leads you to confidently live for him and share the good news about him! God offers us grace through Jesus to live with certainty about all that he said and did!

Luke writes to strengthen believers, to address misperceptions of unbelievers, while emphasizing the divine and perfect human aspects of Jesus’ life!  Jesus alone is the Lord and Redeemer of all humanity!  He offers us the assurance that God is at work, accomplishing his purposes, that Jesus is God incarnate and that true followers of Jesus are in reality the people of God, that the Holy Spirit is essential for our every response and action and that no matter who you are or where you’re from Jesus died to rescue you! Jesus is the fulfillment of all the promises of God and though every promise is not yet realized, we can be certain that one day they will be! Luke writes to give certainty and assurance to believers – you can be certain that everything about Jesus is true!
