The prophecy of Malachi expresses the issues God gives with the people and their response to him.  Several are given, but the fourth one is essentially an accusation that God is not fair, that God has not been just with the people. God addresses this complaint with the promise of a coming messenger.  This messenger will prepare the way for another "messenger of the covenant," the Lord. This is difficult to understand, until Jesus comes. It makes sense that God came in the flesh to dwell among humanity and make the covenant/agreement between God and man complete. Jesus is the promised hope for Israel and the promised hope for all mankind!  Jesus came to rescue mankind from sin, through his life, his death and his resurrection - we can be freed from the bondage and power of sin. Jesus will also return, in his 2nd Advent, to complete the rest of the promises recorded by Malachi. Do you know Jesus?  If not, you can. He will return, are you ready to meet him?
