The promise of a Messiah, a redeemer who would rescue the people of Israel, was a constant theme throughout the Old Testament. Part of that promise was that this Son would be in the line of David. This promise was a well-known and acknowledged truth, that some claimed of Jesus, the Christ. Jesus is the fulfillment of these promises given by the prophets throughout the Old Testament. Do you believe the promises of God? Do you trust that he will keep his promises to you? Jeremiah writes that God will absolutely fulfill his promise of restoration to the people and his guarantee is the fact that the constant rising and setting of the sun cannot be altered and therefore his promise cannot and will not be changed!  We can trust our God!
