James now turns from the reality of trials to only real help - wisdom from God. When all kinds of different trials come in our lives, it is imperative for us to understand our inherent need for God's wisdom, for his grace and strength. God offers help and he offers it based on his character. God's character is foundation that guarantees he will give help, no matter what trial you may encounter. Have you asked for wisdom?  Do you believe God will give it?  Trust him - he's present and he will give you the help you need.

James, the brother of Jesus, writes to Jewish believers who have been scattered, likely because of persecution. James encourages these believers through instruction on trials, genuine faith, and the appropriate interactions within the community of believers. His goal is to give guidance to these believers as they continue to engage with one another apart from the oversight of the established church in Jerusalem.
