Thankful for Deliverance

May 9, 2021 Speaker: Mark Black Series: The Psalms

Topic: Followers of God, Thanks, Psalms, 1-PM Sermons Passage: Psalm 116:1–19

In Psalm 116, the Psalmist acknowledges the personal nature of the relationship the people of God enjoy with him. Here he is calling out for deliverance and God is faithful to deliver and the Psalmist then expresses thanks to God for his faithful deliverance. Our God is so faithful and kind to us, he gracious, merciful and compassionate.  Truly we serve a kind heavenly Father who is near to us, even in the face of great struggles!

The Psalms offer an incredible look at our great God: his faithfulness, his covenant love, his wisdom and power!  They also present to us the responses of humanity to God: thanksgiving, praise, worship, trust, obedience and even sorrow due to our circumstances.  The Psalms offer us a rich source of comfort, hope, and faith our all-powerful God who is Creator of all, above all and sustaining all!  May these messages bring you hope, comfort and confidence in the only source of real assurance - Yahweh, God over All!
