Paul continues his defense to the Corinthian believers against his opponents there in Corinth.  He boasts ultimately of all that he has done, only to set in focus the reality that their boasts are without any real foundation.  Paul acknowledges in the end that it is God that ultimately protects, provides and orchestrates the work of ministry!

Throughout 2 Corinthians Paul addresses the impact of suffering on ministry, life and the message; the complexity of human relationships at times - the suffering they can cause and the joy of being reconciled when we obey and follow the guidance of the Spirit in our lives.
