Paul continues to address the church at Corinth over the issues that have been raised by his opponents there in Corinth.  Paul states clearly that these "super-apostles" are really false prophets, deceitful workers who have done their best to disguise themselves as apostles of Christ!  This is a serious situation in Paul's mind because of the potential for these believers to be led stray from a genuine and pure commitment to Christ!  He explains that authentic ministry is not based on externals, like presentation, but on the truth of the gospel!

Throughout 2 Corinthians Paul addresses the impact of suffering on ministry, life and the message; the complexity of human relationships at times - the suffering they can cause and the joy of being reconciled when we obey and follow the guidance of the Spirit in our lives.
