Paul brings his discussion of the gift to be presented to the church in Jerusalem to a conclusion here at end of 2 Corinthians 9.  Paul focuses on the foundational motivations for giving.  Cheerful giving brings glory to God, causes thanks to be offered to God and produces the potential for even greater opportunities to give!

Throughout 2 Corinthians Paul addresses the impact of suffering on ministry, life and the message; the complexity of human relationships at times - the suffering they can cause and the joy of being reconciled when we obey and follow the guidance of the Spirit in our lives.
