Paul continues to encourage the believers at Corinth to be ready with their gift when the delegation arrives from Macedonia.  He tells them that he has spoken very highly of them and their excitement for this project and how that excitement has impacted the giving of other churches! He wants them to give willingly, and not to give out of a sense of being coerced into giving!

Throughout 2 Corinthians Paul addresses the impact of suffering on ministry, life and the message; the complexity of human relationships at times - the suffering they can cause and the joy of being reconciled when we obey and follow the guidance of the Spirit in our lives.
