The crucifixion of Jesus is ultimately the perfect, complete sacrifice offered once for sins.  There is no more need of sacrifices because the perfect sacrifice has been offered.  The death of Jesus is the only satisfactory payment (covering/reparation) for your sins against God!  His death also provides our only means of forgiveness, reconciliation and fellowship with God!

Throughout the Gospel of John we see the truth that Jesus is the promised one, the anointed one from God through his signs, witnesses, and statements; and he has come to rescue humanity from sin!
