In this section, we see the section part of the trial before Pilate!  Jesus is first beaten and then brought before the crowd.  Pilate hoping they will see him as a pitiful figure with the crown of thorns and the mock royal robe.  However, the intrenched religious leaders refuse to turn from their intended purpose - to kill this man, Jesus!

Yet, Jesus, the Son of God and King, came as the perfect sacrificial Lamb - offered once, for sins: for the sins of his accusers and yours!  Just as they had to decide what they would do with Jesus; so you too, must decide!  Will you follow him or reject him?  Will you choose the popular path or choose the narrow way?  It all comes down to what we believe about Jesus!

Throughout the Gospel of John we see the truth that Jesus is the promised one, the anointed one from God through his signs, witnesses, and statements; and he has come to rescue humanity from sin!
