As Jesus continues to pray, he asks the Father to protect and preserve his followers!  In a hostile world, Jesus prays that you – his followers – will be protected by the Father and sanctified by the Word! 

Throughout the Gospel of John we see the truth that Jesus is the promised one, the anointed one from God through his signs, witnesses, and statements; and he has come to rescue humanity from sin!
