Jesus explains to his disciples as he prepares them for his departure that they will face opposition from the world.  As followers of Jesus, we will face opposition; but do not be surprised and do not turn away, instead we must endure! 

Throughout the Gospel of John we see the truth that Jesus is the promised one, the anointed one from God through his signs, witnesses, and statements; and he has come to rescue humanity from sin!
