Paul in this very familiar chapter calls for the believers at Corinth to love one another.  He makes the point that love lasts when all the other gifts that we would sometimes value far more than love will not last.  Paul longs for these believers and for us to show love to one another as we interact with one another.  Love is more important than any of our gifts!  We must be committed to genuinely loving one another.

As Paul writes to the church of Corinth, he is challenging the Corinthians to remember the ownership of the Lord Jesus in their lives and to live accordingly.  He calls them to grow up in their understanding of the gospel by maturing in their unity with one another and their own personal purity that must define genuine believers.
