So often we have perceptions and even at times superstitions about God, but often our thoughts about God demonstrate that we do not really know Him.  In John 5, Jesus heals a lame man and the man has his own superstitions about how God works.  He meets Jesus and fails to see what God is really like, just like the Jews fail to see Jesus for who He is.  We will continue the account next Sunday as Jesus explains His identity and relationship to God the Father.

Throughout the Gospel of John we see the truth that Jesus is the promised one, the anointed one from God through his signs, witnesses, and statements; and he has come to rescue humanity from sin!
