John compares the genuine belief of the Samaritans with the belief of the Jews in Galilee, a surface belief that is interested in seeing miracles.  An official of the King, approaches Jesus and pleads for Him to come and heal his son!  Initially, Jesus addresses the crowd about their lack of real belief.  The man in desperation begs Jesus to come to his house and heal his son. 

Jesus, instead, sends him home and tells him his son will live!  The man with no physical evidence to verify Jesus' words, must accept by faith and go home. 

Before he arrives home, his servants meet him to tell him the great news - his son is recoving!  The miracle strengthen his belief and again is a sign of who Jesus really is!
