The Resurrection of Jesus from the dead is one our core beliefs as followers of Jesus!  Paul writes here to the church at Corinth to remind them of this reality of the gospel and to try to help them understand the implications of it in their daily lives. 

The truths of the gospel are intended to shape our lives,our responses and interactions in our homes, workplaces, etc.  The Resurrection matters because if Jesus did not raise from the dead our faith is empty, pointless. (1 Corinthians 15.17)

Jesus did rise from the dead and he was seen by more than 500 eye-witnesses!  You can rest in that reality!
