As Paul continues his discussion of the Holy Spirit and his intended influence in our lives, he challenges the Galatians with the right approach to dealing with one caught in a transgression. Paul addresses carrying the burdens of the weak, not judging them because of their weakness, but instead reflecting our own weakness and potential for sin. Ultimately, we will all stand before God one day and give account for ourselves. Paul calls us to give to those who teach us the word, faithfully. He calls us to sow and not grow tired of sowing. Paul concludes this entire section with an exhortation to take every opportunity before us to care for others, especially fellow believers. For genuine believers, spiritual Living is most tangibly demonstrated by doing good, caring for others, especially our fellow believers.

The major theme of Galatians is the gospel – the message of salvation! What is it? Who is right about the means of salvation? In order to fully address this vital issue, Paul is going to address the subjects of Jesus, the Holy Spirit, faith, justification, freedom, the law and the implications of these in our daily living. Galatians is not a book offering believers the ultimate license to live however they please. Galatians is instead an explanation of all that we possess through the glorious gospel of Jesus and the implications of it for our daily lives. The gospel is given and intended to change us, to shape us more into the image of Jesus. By God’s grace, we can understand the truth of the gospel and be transformed by it.
