The Bible tells a story, a story about God as he engages with humanity. The story begins with creation, but almost immediately has a disruption. Sin in the garden causes a disruption and brings judgment from God, but God also has and offers a solution. That solution begins with a people group, a nation, starting with Abraham. God offers Abraham a promise, at times referred to as the Abrahamic Covenant. In his promise, God tells Abraham, he will have a great nation, a land and will bless all nations in the future. As the nation develops another promise is made to a king of Israel - David and that promise includes the commitment of an eternal reign. Another promise is giving through the prophet Jeremiah, a new covenant will be employed. Despite the sin of mankind, despite our shortcomings and failures, God has a plan. He has, is and will accomplish his plan. That plan includes the fulfillment of these promises through the person and work of Jesus, who fulfills the New Covenant promises, who mediates God's blessings to mankind and will ultimate rule and reign forever. God loves those whom he has created, he loves you. Are you taking part in his plan? Are you a follower of Jesus, the means through which God has and is and will fulfill all of his promises to mankind? You can be today.
