As we celebrate the independence of our nation, it is imperative for believers to understand that genuine freedom throughout the Bible never is connected to our politics or our freedom from governments.  Instead, Biblical freedom is always connected to the freedom we now enjoy as believers from the power of sin over us. Jesus addressed this in John 8 and several of the letters to the church from Paul, James and Peter also address this vital subject. Today, do you enjoy the freedom of forgiveness from sin and freedom from its power in your life?  As believers, we never have to yield to our sin. By God's grace, you can enjoy the power of Jesus actively at work in your life and increasingly see victory over sin. 

Throughout the Gospel of John we see the truth that Jesus is the promised one, the anointed one from God through his signs, witnesses, and statements; and he has come to rescue humanity from sin!
