Paul addresses the Day of the Lord a couple of times in his letters to the church in Thessalonica.  The Day of the Lord appears in both the Old and New Testaments.  Several passages in the Old Testament contain not only the prophecy of the Day of the Lord, but later the fulfillment of that judgment.  Several other Old Testament texts do not seem to have yet been fulfilled.  The New Testament authors use this term as well, but connect it to the Return of the Lord Jesus.  In this study, we seek to clarify the use of the term and understand most importantly, this teaching was delivered for our encouragement and comfort!
