The Message of Job

March 15, 2020 Speaker: pastor dave Series: Stand Alone Messages

Topic: Trust, Suffering, Faith, 1-PM Sermons, Book Overview Passage: Job 38:1–7, Job 42:1–6

In a day of uncertainly and seemingly fear and anxiety at every turn; we see from the life of Job that we can trust God no matter what we face!  The book of Job presents one of the greatest mysteries in all of the world - the myster of why suffering occurs in the life of seemingly good people who certainly do not seem to deserve it.  It produces the question of fairness and the at times audible response of our children, this is not fair.  And yet throughout the book we see the reality of suffering in life of a man who really did not seem to deserve it.  Yet, in the end we learn that we cannot fully understand suffering and hardship because of our limited, mortal perspective.  We are left the response of Job, "I am insignficant, I am dust and ashes" compared to God, the Creator.  He alone is sovereign and his perspective is not limited in any way!  Therefore, we learn from Job and his experience: we can absolutely trust our God, he is powerful and able to care for us and sustain us no matter what comes into our lives!  May God give you grace to trust him, no matter what you face.
