Topic: Loving One Another, Serving, Romans, 1-AM Sermons Passage: Romans 15:1-13

In a concluding exhortation, Paul calls for the believers in Rome to love one another - to welcome one another and please one another in their responses to one another. These concluding statements come from Paul as a call to appropriately respond to one another. Paul returns to his call to welcome one another. He reminds believers that our motivation for welcoming and acception one another is the example of Jesus. Jesus lived for the good of others and Jesus became a servant for mankind, to demonstrate the faithfulness of God to his promises to the patriarchs and that we (Gentiles) might be rescued from our sin. Based on his example, genuine believers must lovingingly please and accept one another.

Throughout Romans, Paul offers a defense of what he believes and teachers about the gospel for these believers in Rome he has not yet met. Some of these believers may have been questioning him, his message, and how it relates to Judaism. Paul writes to explain at length the connection of Jesus, the gospel and to defend it, in spite of the rejection of Jesus as the Jewish Messiah by many Jews.
