In writing to the church at Rome, while addressing the need for believers to love and prefer one another in unity, Paul now addresses the possibility of endurance and encouragement through the word of God. Our hope, our encouragement and grace to endure all come from the Scripture, from the words of God to us, his people. You can endure today through the powerful truth of the word of God. May God give you grace to be encouraged and to endure today. 

Throughout Romans, Paul offers a defense of what he believes and teachers about the gospel for these believers in Rome he has not yet met. Some of them may have been questioning him, his message and how it relates to Judaism. Paul writes to explain at length the connection of Jesus, the gospel and defend it, in spite of the rejection of Jesus as the Jewish Messiah by many Jews.
