As John continues to write of the things he saw and heard, he records the prelude to the final set of judgments given in Revelation. These seven judgments are called the bowl judgments and offer a finality to the judgments of God on the earth and on those who reject him and worship the beast. These judgments are more severe than the seal and trumpet judgments described earlier in Revelation. These judgments describe the wrath of God, the inescapable wrath of God; however, there is time to turn in faith to the Lamb once slain for sin. The only hope for avoiding the coming wrath of God and judgments that accompany it is to turn in faith to Jesus, the Lamb. He died to save us from our sins and to make us right with God. He took the wrath of God for us on the cross. 

The Revelation of Jesus Christ is written to further our understanding about Jesus. It demonstrates throughout his majesty, power and authority over the events and affairs of mankind. The Revelation of Jesus Christ demonstrates that ultimately – Jesus wins and because he does, we can and must trust him. No matter what comes into our lives, we can and must confidently and faithful rest in the ability of our God and Savior to work in our lives and in the world he has created. Jesus is worthy and “to him be glory and power forever and ever.” As John concludes, he quotes Jesus, “I am coming soon.” John responds, as every believer can and should – Come, Lord Jesus!
