Paul continues the exhortation to Titus to appropriately train the believers in Crete. This time Paul calls Titus to remind them how to respond to those outside the church. Our reason and motive for appropriately responding to those outside the church is because of the gospel, because we have been saved from our sins through the work of Jesus on our behalf.  Believers must respond and live differently because we have been saved from our sins. We must understand what is means to be saved and your life must display that transformation!

As Paul writes to encourage the pastor Titus serving the churches in Crete, Paul instructs him to set things in order and to appoint pastors in every town and congregation. Titus, as Timothy did in Ephesus, serves as a stabilizing influence and leader in the church on the island of Crete. Paul exhorts Titus to promote doctrine that leads to godly living. The behavior of believers must flow from what they claim to believe. Our daily living must match all we claim to believe about God.
