Paul concludes his 2nd letter to his son in the faith, pastor Timothy, by reminding Timothy of his own ministry experiences. Paul reflects on his work for the sake of the gospel. He then gives several parting requests, many connected to co-laborers in the gospel. Finally, Paul offers his final greeting. As believers, we can live confidently in Christ no matter what comes, and we must daily remain faithful to God and to his word! Paul's example of faithfulness is a reminder for Timothy to faithfully stand for truth as he directs the church at Ephesus.

Paul is writing to Timothy again to encourage him to stand firm, to persevere despite the opposition that he may face. He appeals to Timothy, as a spiritual son, to boldly stand on the gospel truths and to faithfully persevere even in suffering, to avoid foolish and divisive debates, and to faithfully stand against false teaching. Endure in the gospel!
