Paul continues to exhort Timothy to be strong and to faithfully endure in his service to God. As believers, we can faithfully endure; strengthened by God, even while enduring hardship.

Paul is writing to Timothy again to encourage him to stand firm, to persevere despite the opposition that he may face. He appeals to Timothy, as a spiritual son, to boldly stand on the gospel truths and to faithfully persevere even in suffering, to avoid foolish and divisive debates, and to faithfully stand against false teaching. Endure in the gospel!
