As we conclude our series in Proverbs, it is important to note that for believers today, our primary source of wisdom from God is Christ. Real godly wisdom comes only through Jesus; the gospel surpasses human wisdom! God has spoken to us through his Son and we can have his wisdom as we know and follow Christ.

The purpose of Proverbs as a whole is clearly developed for us in the first seven verses of the book. Wisdom begins with a genuine reverence for God, resisting our natural temptation to reject God’s wise direction and treat it as insignificant. We must remember our need for the wisdom of God and the strength that only God can provide to rightly apply that wisdom.
