The preacher of Hebrews begins to explain the meaning and significance of the priestly office of Melchizedek and its connection to the high priestly role of Jesus. Jesus' role of high priest is an eternal priesthood!  It will never end and it cannot fail.

Though the author of Hebrews is unknown, the writer offers instruction about Jesus; his person, his work and truth that he is better than angels, Moses, priests and any feature of the old covenant. Jesus is Supreme and Sufficient for believers! Our salvation is secured through his sacrificial work for us. As followers, we can rest in the provision of Jesus for us and we must persevere and encourage others to remain faithful to him.
