The preacher of Hebrews continues to develop the explanation of Jesus as our Great High Priest and all that it means for believers. Here he first explains the role of the original high priest and offers specific qualifications.  He then turns to Jesus and explains the qualities of Jesus that make him the ultimate and perfect High Priest for mankind. This discussion culminates with the statement that Jesus is the source, he is the cause of our eternal salvation.  Salvation is in and through Jesus alone! Jesus makes it possible and mediates every aspect of it for all who will respond and continue in obedience! Jesus alone is the source of eternal salvation for all who will hear and obey him! May God give us grace to follow him and continue to grow in his image and likeness.

Though the author of Hebrews is unknown, the writer offers instruction about Jesus; his person, his work and truth that he is better than angels, Moses, priests and any feature of the old covenant. Jesus is Supreme and Sufficient for believers! Our salvation is secured through his sacrificial work for us. As followers, we can rest in the provision of Jesus for us and we must persevere and encourage others to remain faithful to him.
