The Sacrificial Care of God for lost ones

August 29, 2021 Speaker: pastor dave Series: The Gospel according to Luke - Certainty for Believers

Topic: Love, Loving Others, Luke, 1-AM Sermons Passage: Luke 15:1-32

The Pharisees have once again made their their distain for all who seek Jesus, but fail to fit the appropriate levels of religiousness. Here Jesus tells them three parables about lost ones: the lost sheep, the lost coin and the lost son. A theme that is clearly emphasized throughout is the joy and celebration of God, of heaven, when a lost one comes to Jesus.  How open are you to lost ones?  How open are you to the work of God in the life of sinners that seem to be needy and lacking? God is seeking the lost and gladly accepts repentant sinners to himself and so should we.

Luke writes to strengthen believers, to address misperceptions of unbelievers, while emphasizing the divine and perfect human aspects of Jesus’ life!  Jesus alone is the Lord and Redeemer of all humanity!  He offers us the assurance that God is at work, accomplishing his purposes, that Jesus is God incarnate and that true followers of Jesus are in reality the people of God, that the Holy Spirit is essential for our every response and action and that no matter who you are or where you’re from Jesus died to rescue you! Jesus is the fulfillment of all the promises of God and though every promise is not yet realized, we can be certain that one day they will be! Luke writes to give certainty and assurance to believers – you can be certain that everything about Jesus is true!
