Kingdom Mission & Work

August 8, 2021 Speaker: pastor dave Series: The Gospel according to Luke - Certainty for Believers

Topic: 1-AM Sermons, Luke, Ministry, Mission Passage: Luke 13:10-35

Luke continues with his account of the life of Jesus by giving yet another example of his compassionate care and love for people.  He heals a woman who has been under the control of Satan for eighteen years and the ruler of the synagogue rebukes this healing by Jesus because it is done on the Sabbath day. After rebuking the ruler and those in agreement with him, Jesus continues his teaching regarding the Kingdom of God.  This section concludes with the brokenness of Jesus over the rejection of Israel.  This is one of his final pleas with the people to hear and respond to his words. How are you responding to the words of God?

Luke writes to strengthen believers, to address misperceptions of unbelievers, while emphasizing the divine and perfect human aspects of Jesus’ life!  Jesus alone is the Lord and Redeemer of all humanity!  He offers us the assurance that God is at work, accomplishing his purposes, that Jesus is God incarnate and that true followers of Jesus are in reality the people of God, that the Holy Spirit is essential for our every response and action and that no matter who you are or where you’re from Jesus died to rescue you! Jesus is the fulfillment of all the promises of God and though every promise is not yet realized, we can be certain that one day they will be! Luke writes to give certainty and assurance to believers – you can be certain that everything about Jesus is true!
