Throughout Leviticus we see the sacrifices that were required by God for his people to atone for their sins.  The sacrificial system is incredibly detailed and comprehensive throughout Leviticus; but it is all given for the purpose of the people being fit to experience the presence and fellowship of God.  Because of our sin, we cannot have a relationship without apart from a sacrifice!  In Leviticus they sacrificed animals, but the author of Hebrews explains to us that Jesus is the once for all, for all time sacrifice!  There is no longer any need of sacrifice because Jesus is the perfect, the ultimate sacrifice for sins!
