Advent is part of the Christian calendar and essentially focuses on the coming of the promised Messiah!  Advent is a great reminder that Jesus did not just come as a baby, but that he will one day return to this world as the conquering King of all!  

Each week of Advent, we focus on four different sections of Scripture: an Old Testament passage, a Psalm, a New Testament Passage and a passage from one of the Gospels.  Each points to specific needs we have in order to make certain we are ready for the coming of the Lord.  

Each Sunday of Advent focuses on a different aspect of the coming of Jesus: 1st Sunday - Preparation, 2nd Sunday - Anticipation, 3rd Sunday - Joy, 4th Sunday - Incarnation. 

For us at Graceway, Advent has become a wonderful reminder of the reality that Jesus is coming again.  Each year as we read and consider the different passages each week, we come away asking the question: are we ready?  Are we ready for Jesus to return again?  He is coming!  It could be today!
